Sondors Ebike Celebrates Earth Day

1970 marked the very first Earth Day, the start of a movement that gave voice to an emerging consciousness toward environmental issues. Nearly half a century later in 2016, in a vastly different technological, political, and environmental landscape, the Earth Day movement isn’t just about planting trees in your neighborhood park anymore. Global environmental issues are a turbulent amalgam of challenges — to a point where thinking long and hard about these problems is frustrating and impossible, much like the feeling of being stuck on an LA freeway in rush hour (and we’re sorry to say, we have a solution for neither). This Earth Day, let’s remember that however overwhelming the global environmental issues seem, the Earth Day movement started with just a small group of people who wanted to make some big changes. As Margaret Mead once said:

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead

If you, like the average American drive about 12,000 miles a year, you will create around 8,320 pounds of CO2 each year. It’s a staggering number for something we do without a second thought each day. There are alternatives, and we’re finally seeing consumers turn to electric for both the economic and environmental benefits at zero emissions. Sondors eBikes strives to make this alternative approachable for anyone who wants to make the switch to electric.

SONDORS CAR EMISSIONS COMPARISON-01

Technology is often viewed as both the problem and the solution to our environmental problems, and we’re focusing on the latter: taking technology and making it both sustainable and downright fun. One more person making their commute on a Sondors instead of a car brings us a step closer seeing major cities without traffic and smog. Electric technology may not be the only solution, but it’s a step in the right direction, and we’re all for taking small steps towards a big dream.

This Earth Day and beyond, let’s make big stuff happen by starting small. Let’s commit to swapping the car for your Sondors to make your daily commute. Let’s hop on the Sondors for a quick errand and leave the car in the garage. Let’s spread the electric fun to our friends and family! Let’s start now, and let’s keep going! #GoSondors
